MERA
Who We Are
MERA is a collaboration of organizations representing a broad range of metals and materials. Although our members represent different metals and organizations, many fundamental environmental science questions extend across individual substances. MERA provides a forum for addressing these shared questions collaboratively, allowing members to draw upon scientific expertise, experience, and research that extends beyond any single metal.
MERA provides a collaborative forum for identifying, discussing, and advancing environmental research relevant across metals. Our work addresses scientific questions related to:
Environmental fate and exposure
Bioavailability and metal speciation
Ecotoxicology and ecological effects
Environmental risk assessment
Environmental quality standards and guidelines
Emerging methods and technologies
New approaches for generating, interpreting, and applying environmental data
MERA members collectively support scientific priority-setting and may choose to collaborate on research projects where there is shared interest. This flexible model allows research teams to form around specific scientific questions while maintaining a broader forum for cooperation across the metals community.
